Here below, are the next set of pics from my brief visit to the 2013 Sakura Con Northwest Anime Convention, in Seattle. For the first set and opening commentary, click here.

This set is focused on the outside fun. The day was bright and wonderful, with cherry trees in bloom and the sky blue. This environment and wide open space was perfect for its for anime, gaming, alternative “geek” culture enthusiasts. Here are some observations on this gathering, based on similar musings over the many years at other alternative pop culture conventions.

  • Anime conventions bring a younger, more energetic crowd. Most come to entertain and be entertained. Being outside, often leads to random conversation and sharing of favorite things, especially if wearing a costume, apparel, or even holding a sign referring to similar interests. The Vancouver Fan Expo 2013!

Posted: April 22, 2013 in Uncategorized

Jolt Studios

Here is a couple of vlogs of my time at the Vancouver Fan Expo, and let me tell you, I had a great time! I got to meet a number of celebrities and I picked up some good advice about what to do when starting out as an actor from people such as Peter Kent, Ken Kirzinger, and Nichelle Nichols!

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, although not as big as the Calgary Expo, and it was definitely different attending it as a fan instead of a volunteer, as I normally do at the Calgary Expo.

Adrift Culture

I’ll be frank: it was torture watching every single anime show as it always is. My passion for anime may have started to fall apart as my days are numbered when I step in a whole new different field in my life. I refuse to waste my time when I find something isn’t entertaining, but nevertheless, reviving this blog as is has always been my goal beyond, so I’ll endure the 20 minutes of watching shows unbearable for a first episode. I’ll try to keep this blog alive (again, as I’ve always tried to promise myself that), and to start it off, let’s go with my first impression in the first four anime shows I’ve chosen with medium expectations. (On a sidenote, I’ll start cleaning this blog after I’m finish with the first impressions in Spring 2013.)

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

Hard to understand this show, really. It’s, well…
